Hanyang University is reconstructing the roads around the main entrance in order to provide a safe environment for pedestrians and students as well as smooth traffic for drivers. The construction is taking place from the main entrance to the College of Medicine II and is planned to be done before 2009. The road starting from the Alumni Association Building will be reconstructed into a straight road. In addition, there will be new traffic light set up so that drivers who now have to drive up the street and make U-turns to enter the university will be able to easily make left-turns.

  Main entrance is a representative of the school. The roads around the main entrance used to be dangerous as cars and students were using the road simultaneously. Baek Seung-won, student of Hanyang University said, "Before, it was dangerous because students and cars were using the road at the same time. Now, the constructioning giving students inconvenience. I hope the reconstruction to be finished as soon as possible and provide students more convenient campus. I am really looking forward to it." Now, around the main entrance, a rest area and garden for students will be built. The school is also planning on planting trees and grass to create a friendly landscape. Thanks to the new main entrance and a new rest area, both students and other pedestrians will be safer and have more convenience in using the new road. The head of the Section of Facilities said, "We also have second reconstruction plan which includes the afforestation and deck-building of the area around the hill. We are trying our best to improve the environment of the campus for the sake of the students' health."
