The Hanyang University(HYU) Hospital opened a small-scale cancer wards with two stories on March 10 and now, reportedly announced a plan of promoting to establish a large-scale cancer center building for the rushing of cancer patients, the plan is not yet fixed internally among HYU hospital members. However, the plan is now undergoing to establish a large-scale cancer center building in HYU campus.
On March 28, 2008, Lee Yung-lyul, professor of blood-neoplasm internal department in HYU hospital, said "We are closely discussing with the administrative to establish a large scale cancer center building and many considerations are being discussed such as searching for the land, Etc." Also added, "We never stopped and kept curing cancer patients continuously from the beginning through the cooperation of each section. The main reason of establishing a large scale cancer center building is to manage and care the cancer patients systematically and to up-grade the efficiencies.”
Now, a small-scale cancer wards have been managed in two stories at HYU hospital; One is children tumor wards on 7th floor and the other is general cancer wards on 12th floor. And Lee is the head officer of cancer center.
Professor Lee said "Newly opened small cancer center and coming large cancer center building is expected to up-grade enormously the curing efficiencies and systematic patients’ management at HYU hospital."
