University students and citizens gathered in front of the KT company building in Gwanghwamun, Seoul and joined forces in a candlelit vigil in demand for "no-conditioned half-price tuition fees" on June 2. The fifth night of rallies, yesterday's vigil was joined by the general student association presidents of the Korea University Students Coalition, actress Kim Yeo-jin, entertainer Kim Jae-dong, Democratic Party Assemblyman Ahn Min-seok, and Kim Kwang-soo Economic Research Institute Deputy Director Seon Dae-in in support of lowering college tuition fees by half.
 
After the candlelit vigil, the gathered university students and citizens marched down to the Gwanghwamun Post Office to commence a sit-down, but dispersed at around 11 PM when the police demanded crowd to disband. The police announced its intentions to "respond aggresively to unregistered illegal rallies" in the future and allocated a total 23 companies of 1,700 riot police at the scene.
