On November 2, approximately 120 foreign Hanyangians visited the 15th Icheon Rice Cultural Festival, which was held at Seolbong Park in Icheon. This event was planned by the Office of International Cooperation(OIC) at Hanyang University(HYU)

Every year, OIC holds an event for foreign Hanyangians, called Korean Cultural Excursion for Hanyang International Students which allows them to experience Korean culture and arts. This years event is bigger than any other events which are supervised by the OIC. Through this excursion, we hope that foreign Hanyangians can enjoy the Korean traditional culture of rice, said Min Ju-lie, a member of OIC who is in charge of managing events.

At the festival, foreign Hanyangians were able to experience several Korean traditions. They tried on Korean traditional clothes, made Injeolmi and Songpyeon, witnessed a Korean traditional wedding ceremony, and so on. This festival was very interesting. I think the best was the Korean traditional wedding ceremony. If there is another opportunity to experience Korean culture like this, I will surely participate again, said Symagul Azamat, a Hanyangian from Kazakhstan studying Korean Studies in the Masters program at HYU.
