Weehan, one of the online communities for Hanyang University(HYU), will be renewed in March 2014. The site was first launched in 2011 and this upcoming renewal is aimed at restructuring the site to include more information rather than just focusing on being an online community for chatting.
In an effort to provide Hanyangians with helpful information, Weehan added a bulletin board called “Column” where any Hanyangian can write on a variety of subjects and share them with others. “Since Hyubiz, which was an online community for the School of Business at HYU, is now closed, we saw the need to provide an online community where Hanyangians can exchange useful information as well as their ideas. So we added the “Column” section,” said Kwon Il-taek,  the Manager of Weehan.
In addition, there is a plan to resolve the main problem of Minastirith, which is the anonymous bulletin board on Weehan. “We had had trouble in managing Minastirith because it was an anonymous bulletin board. Therefore, we have implemented measures such as setting limits on those who can post. Specifically, only Hanyangians or those who have jointed the website for over a month can use Minastirith from now on,” added Kwon.
