The 412 Education Concert took place in Chung-Gae Public Square in Seoul on April 12. The General Students’ Association (GSA) of Hanyang University (HYU) participated in the event along with five other universities. About 250 to 300 university students joined in the concert in support of the campaign to improve the university system in Korea.

In the concert, the six universities including HYU emphasized that the system of registering for courses and classroom environments needed to be improved. In addition, they stated that they also opposed the integration of majors, claiming that this plan causes the erosion of studies in their original form.

Kim Chang-sik, the president of GSA at HYU commented, “It was the very first time to raise the problems of universities in the form of a concert. We will work together to solve a number of problems each university has been facing with more gatherings like this in the future.”
