On April 30, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for technical cooperation between LG Electronics and Hanyang University (HYU) was held at the Paiknam Library and Academic Information Center at HYU. This collaboration is expected to bring about increased technical research in the fields of smart appliances, mobile applications, and automobiles.

In the agreement, LG Electronics promises to support HYU with a total of one billion won to build better research facilities beginning this year to 2017. In addition, as a result of the discussions held among 29 HYU faculty members and numerous corporate researchers, 34 technology cooperation projects were launched. Prof. Lee, Kwan-Soo, the Dean of the College of Engineering at HYU stated, “I believe HYU’s cooperation with LG Electronics will help open career paths for our students.”

Furthermore, as a part of the event, Ahn, Seung-kwon, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of LG Electronics, visited HYU and delivered a lecture for Hanyangians who are interested in working at LG. The atmosphere served as a kind of mini job fair.
