On July 13, 2014, the Hanyang Baduk Festival was held in the Concert Hall at the Student Union Building of  Hanyang University(HYU). Unlike in previous Baduk competitions which were held exclusively by the Baduk Club of HYU, this event was made possible with the cooperation of Hanyang Alumni and the General Student Association(GSA). In this Baduk Festival, about 150 people, consisting of Hanyangians as well as teaching staff and their family members, participated.
The tournament proceeded in a non-elimination format. Participants were divided into five groups according to their playing level in Baduk, and they competed against the participants in the same group. Those who ranked first, second and third in their assigned groups were awarded with medals.
The 2014 Hanyang Baduk Festival was significant in that it was the first time that current campus students had a chance to participate in a Hanyang Alumni event. Jang Minwoo, the Vice President of GSA of the ERICA campus, said, “I hope to keep this friendly atmosphere among all Hanyangians including the alumni. Also, I hope to cooperate more with the Hanyang Alumni through events like the 2014 Hanyang Baduk Festival.”
