Starting from this semester, the lecture evaluation has been improved. The revised lecture evaluation will go through a test run this semester, and will be implemented next year at the earliest. The existing lecture evaluation was unable to accurately record student’s opinions and was only used to implement countermeasures after the semester ended. To solve these problems, the revised lecture evaluation will be divided into two parts.

First, questions that reflect characteristics of each class have been added. Since there are different types of classes, such as debate class, an experiment class, an English-only class, an omnibus class, and etc, these classes should be evaluated with questions that reflect each of their characteristics.  Additionally, detailed class goals were applied to the questions in the lecture evaluation. In addition, in this revised lecture evaluation, there are some questions that deal with whether there were any kind of sexual discrimination or racial discrimination in class. The school can figure out these types of problems and will try to set matters straight.

Second, the best feature of this revised lecture evaluation is the implementation of middle lecture evaluations. Every lecture evaluation was done at the end of the semester, so that recommendations from the students could be reflected next semester. By introducing a middle lecture evaluation, professor and students are able to communicate about the class and work harder to improve its quality.

The purpose of the lecture evaluation revision is to hear the students’ voices to make the classes better. For the lecture evaluation implemented at the end of this semester, both the existing and the new lecture evaluation will be enforced so that the school can compare the results and determine the effectiveness of the newly added questions. Students are highly recommended to sincerely participate in the lecture evaluation to make the qualities of the classes better.
