Remember the days when you used to run to your parents and talk about a dream that you had last night? Now as grownups, imagination and dreaming have become a luxury, since everyone is busy trying to survive in the real world. Through this exhibition, Jaime Hayon has created a tiny space of imagination in this modern world where people are able to escape from life’s harsh realities. Jaime Hayon: Serious Fun is divided into seven spaces all under the theme of dreams and fantasy: Crystal Passion, Modern Circus & Tribes, Checkmate, Dream Catcher, Cabinet of Wonders, Furniture Galaxy, and Hayon Shadow Theater. The bold, colorful, and somewhat mysterious pieces allow the visitors to feel as if they are Alice from Alice in Wonderland. In the exhibition, there is a quote that reads: “Promise that you will not forget the friends that live within your dream because they are always there talking to you. Remembering this is important.” This quote leads the visitors back to the real world, marking the end of the exhibition.
