Group study rooms were created by the new student lounge. These rooms are open from 9 am to 9 pm and each student can have it reserved for three hours maximum. Students are free to use any rooms if they are not reserved.

Upon the request of General Student Union and General Female Student Association rest room only for women was built inside the new lounge. A lounge located in the third floor which was commonly used as a smoking area by the students, was also remodeled into an outside park with trees and decks. Smoking is not allowed in this area.

Cho Wang-keun, a chief of the Information Support team of the Paiknam Library & Academic Information Center stated, "Major universities in Korea such as Yonsei and Korea universities are renovating or rebuilding their libraries. Facilities of Hanyang University's library were very old and needed a renovation. So we decided to come up with some great changes. I hope students like the change and make a good use of this change."
