With the opening of HY MIT (Minimal Invasive Therapy) Robot Operation Center on Oct. 14, 2008, it has introduced a robotic operation device called, Davinci S. This new equipment was invented by U.S. Intuitive Company.

  Also, all the doctors from the Hanyang University Hospital in this department, has gone through training for this robotic surgery from the U.S. This new device has four arms which can be moved freely just like human arms. The technology which enabled this feature is called "Consol." This device is 10 to 15 times more accurate than the human eye. It has the benefits of delicacy in surgeries which elevate safety lessening the possibility of a complication. It also accelerates recovery. This robot device can be used in various cases; it is useful in rectum cancer surgery, thyroid gland surgery, obstetric surgery, liver resection surgery, and more. For numerous possibilities of Davinci S, HY MIT Robotic Operation Center is expecting the practicality of this new device.

  By opening HY MIT Robot Operation Center and introducing the new robotic device Davinci S, the school is looking forward to developing its robot medical technique. In the opening ceremony for HY MIT Robot Operation Center on Oct 14, Lee Chun-yong, the chief of the center announced that, "Interests in robotic operation is getting activated, and most of the surgeries dealing with inner side of the abdomen will be done with the robot." He also promised to put steady effort on research and to promote the robot medical techniques of Hanyang University Hospital, showing his passion about the continuous best medical treatment in the future.
