Large Greenhouse in the Changgyeong Palace

Location: Changgyeonggung-ro 185 Changgyeonggung, Jongno-gu, Seoul

Open Hours: Everyday 09:00-17:30

These days, we inevitably spend our daily lives in a polluted environment filled with fine dust. If you want to breathe fresh air, you can visit the large greenhouse in Changgyeong Palace. Along the trail and by the lake of Changgyeong Palace, there is a beautiful indoor botanical garden made of transparent glass and white rebar. As you enter, you can find a variety of plants such as moss, white pine trees, and potted flowers. The indoor greenhouse allows you to relax and enjoy fresh air without having to shiver in the cold outside. Also, when the sun sets, the white building and green trees around the building blend together harmoniously, making a great photo spot. Thus, if you want to feel refreshed in the bustling city, heading to Changgyeong Palace is recommended.

Magok Seoul Botanical Garden

Location: 161, Magok-dong-ro, Gangseo-gu, Seoul

Open Hours: Everyday 09:30-18:00 (March-October), Everyday 09:30-17:00 (November-February)

Magok Seoul Botanical Garden opened in May this year. It is located in the center of the city, so it has good accessibility and plays a big part in purifying the air. In the outdoor themed garden, there are sculptures made by plants from various countries. The inner part of the greenhouse feels like a jungle with tropical and Mediterranean plants. Some people might think that botanical gardens are boring with nothing other than plants to see. However, there are stations where visitors can experience VR and read books, and overall, the scenery and architecture are spectacular. Why not enjoy some healing time at Magok Seoul Botanical Garden?

Seoul Forest Insect Botanical Garden

Location: 685-715, Seongsu-dong 1-ga, Seongdong-gu, Seoul

Open Hours: Tuesday-Sunday 10:00-17:00

If New York City has Central Park, Seoul has “Seoul Forest”, where visitors can feel relaxed and peaceful while looking at the lush trees and lake. What is more, unlike other botanical gardens, the one in Seoul Forest has lots of insect specimens. There are collections of insects such as butterflies, scarabs, and wheat worms. Seoul Forest Insect Botanical Garden is smaller than other botanical gardens. However, Seoul Forest itself is a huge botanical garden. Thus, if you want to get away from busy life, visiting the botanical gardens will be a refreshing experience.
