On August 10 at around noon, Lee Whan-ki, a member of the Civil Society Organization(CSO), held a protest against the Korea Communications Standards Commission(KCSC). This continued over the next two days as the protestor called for the KCSC to withdraw the revised bill of the Cyber Defamation Law. As the revised bill allowed the KCSC to delete comments which are highly critical of the official actions, CSO claimed that the regulations would be abused to clamp down on the freedom of the press. Although CSO explained its stance on this perceived injustice, the process of revision is still underway.
