Last Sep. 23, students of Division of Advertising at Ansan campus - Lee Byeong-seon, Kim Byeong-dong, You Jin-su and Lee Sang-heon won the gold prize at the 2008 fourth KOSAC (Korea Student Advertising Competition).

  KOSAC is the biggest student advertising competition. Sponsored by Samsung, Next Human Network (NHN) and Ministry of Culture and Tourism. This competition was held from Mar. to Sep. 2008.

  The preliminary contest was launched in the six major parts of the country and total of 13 teams qualified. These 13 teams went on to the final competition which was held in the COEX Auditorium in Seoul.

  Four student's participation attended same lecture, linked with KOSAC. This team was formed randomly by a ladder game. They do not have much experience in advertising competition only Lee Byeong-seon had experience in participating Korea bank, Kobaco (Korea Broadcasting Advertising Corporation) competition and won a prize.

  Lee Byeong-seon said, "All of members have passion and talent. Each member had design, project-making and presentation abilities as well as extraordinary ideas. So our teamwork was perfect." Kim Byeong-dong also said, "Possible to chat frankly was very good but we had a problem when we needed female's voice for dubbing."

  Before the final competition, they thought they should win the first prize. But after the competition, they lost their confidence because the other participants' presentation were so good. On the contrary, they were marveled by other's originality of idea, so they said gold prize is valuable too. They said too many other students who preparing the KOSAC, "During the project, members had inordinate confidence and carelessness to their project. But it was very dangerous. You always need to criticize on your project, and abandon bad ideas resolutely."

  This KOSAC's topic was Samsung laptop, Sens' brand revitalization strategy. The four members said the public recognize Sens like a normal stone, which is common and ordinary. So they should change this image to be more special. Their motto is 'Make your Sens' containing own special contents and making a meaningful notebook.

  All four members said, "After the competition, we have more interest in advertising and it was a good experience. We also have more confidence at other competitions and a broader outlook on life." They wish entering advertising field, they said division advertisement do not have much distinction at other major students. Only the creative idea is important. So this field has limitless possibility. When they become advertising man they want to make good advertisement. You Jin-su said "I think good advertisements have novelty and meanings. But today's advertisement is diverse, But much of it is just violent or sexual. So we wish to make a better advertisement."
