The Office of International Cooperation (OIC) changed its way of selecting exchange students. Students can apply for the exchange student program with lower Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) grade. Also, it lets students who are defeated in a selection of a language area to apply again for another language area.
The OIC changed way of selecting exchange students to give students more opportunities of studying abroad. Before the OIC changed its way of selecting, it received the application of students at once regardless of language area. By receiving the application by each language areas, students have more chance to apply after drop out and OIC makes applying students have more specialty in each language area.  Besides, the baseline of TOEFL grade was higher than other Universities. So, compared to students at other universities, Hanyangians had had less opportunities of studying abroad.
The new way of selecting exchange student is applied from 2010.
