On September 16, the construction of the Kim Jong-bae Study Room and PC Café will be completed on the fourth floor of Engineering Building Ⅱ at Hanyang University(HYU) of Seoul Campus. Kim Jong Bae, a graduate of HYU, donated funds to create this place in order to provide Hanyangians with a better learning environment. HYU considered students’ complaints demanding more comfortable space to study in. Hanyangians will be able to use these facilities when preparing for group assignments.
Through this construction, the existing PC Room will be newly transformed to a PC Café where 21 computers will be installed for students. Also, an old lecture room will be renovated with six new compartments and will be furnished with a big-screen television.
Kim Jong-bae, a Representative of Samshin Machinery Company, graduated from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at HYU in 1960, and he was selected the first Proud Alumnus of Hanyang. He has been a steady donator for HYU and a supporter for his fellow younger Hanyanians.
