The Youth Street Develops in Front of Hanyang University

The street in front of the main entrance at Hanyang University(HYU) will be changed to develop into the Youth Street. This development of the Youth Street, a co-project with HYU and the Seongdong-gu Office, which will undertake on March, 2008.

This project from the main entrance of HYU to Wangsimni construction site is a plan to revitalize the university culture in front of HYU and create a correlation between HYU and the local residents.

“Youth Street” project is a plan to arrange electric wire, expande side-walk, and develope Hanyang Plaza. Also, Wangsimni construction site’s completion time is on May 2008 and there will be come into each kind mall with
CGV, then develops around there “Healthy street to hope walking” that two kilometers long.
Cho Young-kwan, the earth unit officer of the Department of City-Development at the Seongdong-gu office, said, “In front of HYU, introducing a new public-designed technology will revitalizes the university culture that was relatively shrinked in comparison to other universities. There will be applied as a systematic and synthetic design; pocket-park,
sidewalk extension, Hanyang open space, and so on. In particular, Wangsimni construction site, at the Wagsimni station exit number six, will be projected as a 17 stories building and convenient facilities such as CGV, E-MART,
Fashion mall, Golf practice range, Symbol- Tower, etc. will be coming in.” He also added, “I hope to encourage lots of HYU students’ interest.”
