February 29 marks the end of the Paiknam Academic Information Center renovation. The most noticeable changes were made to the third floor and the second floor of the basement. The study lounge was relocated from the basement to the third floor due to problems with air ventilation. This resulted in sending the Serials room down to second floor of the basement.
Paiknam Academic Information Center installed additional closed-circuit
televisions(CCTV) in the vicinity of the bookshelves to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of students. The Paiknam Academic Information Center users were also dissatisfied with the speed of the wireless internet. The Paiknam Academic Information Center dealt with this issue, and students are looking forward to a better study environment where they can listen to lectures online without buffering.
The Paiknam Academic Information Center underwent other considerable changes as well; the tables in the Science and Technology room on the second floor were replaced and additional outlets were installed in the walls, eight new group study rooms were ready to the third floor, electronic lockers were installed and lounges were made for the convenience of students. As the renovation reflected student opinions, HYU expects high satisfactaion from Hanyangians.
