Hanyang University’s (HYU) Publishing Department has, for the first time, recruited their very own student publisher group, the ‘Press Changers’. The first application process started from July 19th to August 9th. If this semester’s recruitment is successful, the school is planning to continue periodically. The students who applied will have to submit required documents and attend a brief interview, before they are finally accepted to work as the ‘Press Changer’.
The accepted students will have various benefits and experiences. They will not only be given a social volunteer credit, but will also have the chance to experience working in a publishing company firsthand. They will be planning and marketing a new book, which contains contents regarding public interest, and will also be advertising books already in the market. Furthermore, students will be able to take part in meetings with the author. After a three month period is over, those who have the adequate content to publish a book will be given the opportunity to do so.
“It is an experience that many students who plan on working in publishing houses should take,” said the Manager Lee Ho-young.
