The Department of Arts & Technology held a briefing session this summer in Hanyang University (HYU) to introduce a new micro-major course curriculum that HYU students will be able to take starting this fall semester. The new Arts Fusion Software Micro-Major will provide students with a chance to craft their artistic skills using technological tools. Students who decide to take part in this curriculum will be able to graduate with a micro-major on their diploma.
The new Arts Fusion Software Micro-Major is mainly divided into two levels: the ‘Theoretical Level’, and the ‘Practical Level’. When studying the Theoretical Level of the major, students get to choose courses among the ones provided by the Department of Arts & Technology, and the pre-approved courses provided by other majors. The courses that are planned to be open for registration this fall semester are Artechnician’s Thinking in HCI, Arts & Technology Graphics, and Arts & Technology Visual Computing.
After the Theoretical Level, the students need to take courses under the Practical Level track. The courses that are newly held under this level are Augmented and Virtual Reality Capstone Design, Soundscape Capstone Design, and Arts & Technology Converged Capstone Design. The students will be able to graduate with this micro-major by earning 12 credits from the designated courses.
