On November 1, ‘2018 Start-up United Festival in Ansan (SUFIA)’ was held in Hanyang University (HYU) ERICA Campus. SUFIA was hosted by universities and start-up support institutions in Ansan as an event to improve the effectiveness of start-up policies to support start-up businesses and to invite new prospective entrepreneurs to the field. In particular, the Ansan Youth Policy Committee participated in organizing the program to prepare for a start-up event for young people. At the opening ceremony of the first part of the festival, there were entrepreneurs’ ‘I Started My Own Business’ corner and an introduction of Ansan City’s support policy. The second part was a talk concert primarily under the theme of ‘Industry Leading YouTube Marketing Strategy’, involving professional consultants and business support staff members of Ansan City. In the final chapter, a lecture titled ‘The Story and Know-How to Start a Single Media’ was held by the content creator Yoo Joon-ho, who has 750,000 YouTube subscribers.

Kang Hee-kyung, a Competent Officer of Ansan City Hall’s Industrial Policy Department, mentioned that a variety of people participated, from high school students who want to start their own businesses in the future to those who quit their jobs to start their businesses. Many people said that it was a beneficial experience to have their questions answered. However, some complained the time schedule was not considerate of those with day jobs. According to Kang Hee-kyung, there were some difficulties as it was their first joint event. However, since there was also a positive outlet to this event, it will continue to be held next year with further preparation.
