Summer has arrived, and abnormal climates now directly affect our lives. Surprisingly, countries choose to fight with one another rather than cooperate in this dire situation. The U.S. and China are fighting over climate action, but the greenhouse gases emitted by the two together account for 40 percent of the total emissions. If the two do not cooperate, the whole globe would be affected and suffer fatal damage, which is why the world hopes for them to hold hands and communicate rather than collide. The Russian invasion of Ukraine killed many innocent citizens and soldiers. Social media shows only pieces of the whole, and there would be much more destruction than what we could imagine. Putin could not quickly end the war because there was no ‘conversation’ between the two countries. Starting a war is easy, but ending one is complicated because it involves agreements of all sorts. The U.S.-China situation mentioned above is also dangerous because of minimal communication. Misunderstandings occur when something unintended happens, and to solve this, one must explain themselves through conversation.

I was disappointed that I could not do anything while many people were dying from the war. Since we are not directly affected, one might say that this is none of their business. However, the future belongs to us. We should have a sense of crisis about difficult situations happening domestically and internationally and work hard to voice out that this is not the future we dream of. Discussions, expressions, and actions should be shown to provide answers to domestic and international problems. We, as the generations of the future also need to explain ourselves through conversation. Instead of waiting for everything surrounding you to change, you should be the first to start changing. Use one piece of paper, not two, and walk around instead of driving. Communicate and speak out. This may sound very easy, and sure enough, anyone could do this, but only if they have an awareness of problems and the effort to make a change. The youth of today works not only for themselves but for the youth of tomorrow.
