One thing I like about Hanyang University (HYU) is the high quality of the lectures. One memorable lecture was the ‘Social Science’ course given by professor Jihee. The class was about the LGBTQ+ community in Korea, so its contents were original and unique. As not many people openly discuss the topic in Korea, it was a valuable opportunity to learn about Koreans’ different perspective on gender equality. Additionally, I feel like it was easy to make friends in HYU. Through various group projects, students have a lot of chances to interact with other students. Lastly, I liked how the curriculum was similar to the universities in Sweden where I originally came from. The curriculum was also well managed, so it was easy for me to get along with the system.

My favorite part about HYU is that the school meals are tasty. The school provides various options, so students have a lot of choices to choose daily. The meals are better prepared than other universities. There are also many restaurants located in-campus as alternatives for school meals. Additionally, the school provides a lot of places where students can study conveniently. Including the Paiknam library, there are many lounges in different department buildings that students can easily access. Lastly, the club activities are organized efficiently. There are central clubs open for all students and smaller clubs for students of each department. Some clubs even collaborate with other universities, giving students a good chance to meet people from outside the campus.

Kang Kun-woo Department of Film and Theatre 20

One of my favorite parts is that there is a subway station inside the campus. Not many universities have their own station. I think this is a massive advantage that allows students access their classrooms easily. Another thing that I like about HYU is the movie lounge at Paiknam library. I like how the library also provides areas where students can obtain cultural experiences. The movies are free for all university students, and the facilities are attracting, but I feel like not many of students know about this facility. Lastly, the Paiknam library has a lot of original-edition books related to my major. I have been to other university libraries, and I personally think that Paiknam library has the most books. This is helpful for me when studying for my major.

Lee Na-young School of Architecture 20

The first advantage is that the station is inside the campus. I have heard from many of my friends that they are always late to class because the subway station is far from their campuses. Having a station inside the campus makes my university life much easier. Secondly, I like the interior structure of the Paiknam library. There are two lounges on the first floor, so there are plenty of seats to occupy during exam seasons. Many university students suffer when finding quiet and accessible places to study during the exam season, but I think this is exceptional for HYU students. Also, there are a lot of books compared to other libraries. Moreover, the architecture department building is very nice. The classrooms are structured differently from other departments, so students can freely interact with each other and have open debates.
