On August 13, the Hanyang Family Festival was held at the ERICA Campus Dormitory by the General Student Association(GSA). The event was held as a show of appreciation for the staff who work for Hanyang University(HYU),such as the cleaning staffs and security guards. About two hundred workers participated in the event.

The president of GSA, as a representative for all Hanyangians, gave a speech expressing gratitude for the workers in HYU. A video of various Hanyangians thanking the workers was shown on a large screen. Later, Hanyangians from the Department of Dance performed a Korean traditional dance on stage. At the end of the event, a singing contest for the workers was held. The winner of the singing contest won a bicycle and those who came in second or third were given other various prizes like sanitary devices and a box of assorted fruit.

The Hanyang Family Festival ended successfully, bringing positive responses from the workers who participated in the event. In addition, the workers requested the GSA to hold another festival like this once again in the future. Jang Oak-sun, a member of the cleaning staff, said, “I had a great time at the festival and it was really fun to participate. I want to thank the Hanyangians who organized and took part in this event.”
