“I do not like wasting time. I try to take advantage of all 24 hours in each day keeping busy with things to do whether they are related to acting or not,” said Park Du-won, a rising musical star in the Korean musical scene. This year, he was cast as the main actor in Great Superstar, a musical about auditioning performers. The musical is like watching a talent show performed on the musical stage. The characters who are auditioning as participants captivate the audience with their dancing, singing, and spectacular performances. Park, playing the main auditionee, intentionally tries to empower the audience in the musical by inspiring confidence during his performance.

His dream of becoming an actor first began when he was young, and then later, he prepared to apply for the Department of Theater and Film at Hanyang University(HYU). After he entered the department that he had dreamt, his acting skills caught the eyes of his senior classmates who suggested that he take part in a musical. As time passed, he started to feel the magic of being on stage. However, it took a while for him to become acknowledged for his work. Even though rising to fame as an actor proved a difficult time for him at the time, he firmly held on to his dream and decided to train more to hone his talent instead of worrying about his future. His efforts paid off when he finally received recognition as a musical actor with his high profile debut in the musical Story of Peong-gang, a Mirror Princess in 2009.

In addition to being a musical actor, Park is also working on becoming an action film star, as well as a film producer and director of short films. He has already made three short movies and participated as the visual director in the musical Great Superstar. Through his diverse areas of work, Park tries experiment with new projects to discover his other strengths and interests. Park with a perfectionist temperature works very hard for his projects, and he does not reveal his finished product until he believes it is ready to be unveiled to the public. He plans out every hour of each day to achieve perfection.

Although he is involved in many projects, his ultimate goal is to become a movie star. He attempted and performed in various acting roles and thus he knows what kind of projects he wants to work in with certainty. Acting is a lifelong study for him, and as he takes on new roles and different characters, he learns a lot. He tries to deliver a passionate and energetic performance through his acting but more than anything, he hopes that his acting inspires and moves his audience.
