Last February, The Hanyang Global Lions (HGL), a subsidiary organization of the Office of International Affairs of Hanyang University (HYU), finished their enrollment in the very first period of “HY Buddy”. HY Buddy is a program that connects HYU students with foreign exchange students and provides them with an opportunity to learn about one another through cultural exchange.

In this program, HGL aims to make the students learn to communicate with students from different backgrounds, with neither discrimination nor prejudice. Jang Su- bin said, “The willingness to actively communicate and make friends with foreign students was what we put the most weight on when recruiting. In addition, we hope this program will be helpful to the HY Buddies who plan to have an exchange semester in the future.”

Participants of the 247 Startup Dorm program are students and graduate students who are planning to start a business. It also allows early founders and foreign students to participate. The first HY Buddy activities take three months, from this March to May. The enrollment of the second HY Buddy for the upcoming Fall semester is scheduled to take place this Summer; specific dates to be announced in June.
