University is a time and place where students can challenge themselves by participating in diverse activities. Students can explore different fields of studies and get to know better about themselves and their dreams.

The Hanyang Journal had an opportunity to interview a student who accomplished an outstanding result in the 2022 Policy Ideas to Spread K-Contents Contest' co-hosted by the Korean Association for Policy Studies and Korea Creative Content Agency.

Q. Please introduce yourself.

A. Hello, my name is Kim Min-seo. I am a freshman majoring in the Department of Intelligence Computing at Hanyang University.

Q. What made you participate in the 2022 Policy Ideas to Spread K-Contents Contest?

A. At first, I participated in the contest as a midterm assignment for Professor Kim Seong-hees Philosophical Understanding of Science and Technology class. In the beginning, I had only one motivation: to simply participate. However, as I prepared for the contest, I actually found planning policies to be quite interesting. In the end, I had a fun time preparing for the contest.

Q. We heard you received an award at the contest for suggesting developing human resources for K-Game Business Models. How did you first come up with this policy idea? Could you briefly explain this policy?

A.  I have a lot of interest in games so whenever a new game is launched, I enjoy checking it out. As I examined many games, I realized that the business model structure of most games is all standardized and similar. This aspect was what made games seem all "mass-produced," receiving criticism from gamers. To improve such perceptions, I suggested training professionals related to business model through the game industry human resource centers and additionally educating about business models to game companies that have shown outstanding results in independent game contests.

Q.  Lastly, what are your future plans?

A.  I plan to participate in other diverse fields of contests based on this experience. I would especially like to participate in contests related to my major, Data Science.
