Nursing XR Co. Ltd. constructed by CEO Yeo Ji-young, a professor at Department of Nursing at Hanyang University (HYU) held the corporate research and development centerʼs opening ceremony at Hanyang Institute of Technology (HIT) of HYU on December 27, 2022. 

 Nursing XR Co. Ltd. is a smart edu-tech company that develops educational content using extended reality technology. It implements a hybrid practical education platform that integrates online and offline teaching. This improves the quality of nursing practical education post COVID-19. Their ultimate goal is to build a nursing simulation education platform using realistic contents.

“XR technology is crucial in the healthcare field and education,” said Tak Young-ran, a professor at the Nursing Department of HYU.

 Due to the global shortage of nurses, strengthening educational methods and contents for practical experience and training has become more pression. The key is to improve the intense and high-quality capabilities required to properly respond to a growing number of situations and differing needs of subjects at clinical sites. Thus, the necessity of XR technology in nursing education was emphasized.

 Professor Yeo presented the sensational quality of nursing education and challenges. The progress can be seen through relevant research publications such as Nursing Simulation Education System with Realistic Content.

 As a nursing educator with extensive clinical experience, professor Yeo has been exploring the best educational methods for students ʼ capability growth. This exploration was carried out by the application and trial of a wide-range of educational methods on nursing practice. It also includes the ability for studentsʼ nursing practice education and IC-PBL education at HYU. Professor Yeo concluded by saying, “With studentsʼ personal ability growth and case-centered feedback, we have been leading the practical education closely related to studentsʼ values.”
