Receiving School of Business of HYU’s 50th birth, He has some plans about the School of Business of HYU’s future. “50 means the prime of manhood in a person’s situation. It is special. So the business school is preparing the national symposium and we think about the collaboration with other national universities. And a monument what School of Business of HYU prize winners’ names carved will be installed at School of Business of HYU. My ultimate goal is making School of Business of HYU as a CEO (Chief Executive Officer) training center.”
In recent years, the businesses want School of Business students in their works and a lot of universities and colleges make a business school in their campus. Also more and more students want to go to business school. About these phenomenon Professor Ye said, “This is a fair result. Because mainly the students who were admitted into business school got a high score in their entrance examination so they are superior students. And businesses want practical person for their work and the business school students learn practical lessons in Business. Therefore, most popular national universities have many business school students about 20~30 percent of all students.”
The School of Business of HYU has some differences from other schools. “The School of Business of HYU acquired a domestic certification of business administration at the very first. Also we are trying to acquire certification of AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) international.”
HYU’s business school has turned out approximately twenty thousand students during the fifty years. Most of them are high rankers in our society. And also our graduates are ranked second at domestic CEO part. In other words we have nice elders and supporters. Rector Ye Jong-seok is trying to use these good advantages. “An alumni association was created last year. Relating this situation I have a mentoring plan that graduates visit school and take counsel with their junior about the vision, right directions and agonies. So our students can go more right path easily with more profitable information.”
The School of Business of HYU has a big trouble. Because Business class getting popular every year, the other school students attending the business classes. Ridiculously as a result, business school students can not attending their own lectures. “We are making an effort about this trouble. We are trying to increase professors for students. Before long, business school students can attend their own lectures on their own choice.”
Rector Ye Jong-seok think this society very hard and he think students must have self-consciousness. “Our society’s expectations for university graduates are higher than past and the competition is tougher than the past too. So if students want success in this society, they have to build abilities. If they do not have any abilities, they can not even survive in this society.”
As every teacher has a wish for their students, Rector Ye Jong-seok has a wish for Hanyangians. He stresses students own mind. “When you are in the school, you have much time. Do not waste your time.”
