Hanyang University’s (HYU) Social Volunteer Team, (based in ERICA Campus) established a ‘peer scholarship’ system on May 24th and is planning to award its first scholarship to students this fall semester. The school collects donation funds from students and alumni and uses the money as a scholarship for financially difficult students. The school aims to provide the scholarship every semester so that the students who are in urgent need of money can concentrate on their studies without worrying about paying their tuition fees.
Anyone can donate by visiting the ERICA Campus Student Center or downloading the donation form from the ERICA Social Volunteer Team website. Adding on to this trend, the HYU Administration Team announced that they will donate the same amount of money collected from students each semester.
HYU’s Social Volunteer Team is enthusiastically raising donations by holding talent donation activities and flea markets. They hope to achieve a donation participation rate of ten percent or more among the HYU ERICA campus students. “We hope that our students will be able to learn the joy of sharing through this small practice of love,” said an official from HYU’s Social Volunteer Team.
